10+ Halloween Activities for Kids (THAT YOU CAN DO WITH WHAT YOU HAVE AT HOME)!

It’s a week (I mean less than a week before Halloween)! I apologize for being MIA for the longest time. It’s been a hectic few months because we have been making numerous printable activities for your little ones to do! Not to mention, we have other projects lined up as well (if you’re interested)! So, all this time went by and we didn’t even realize that Halloween was right around the corner!

So, don’t fret if Halloween snuck up on you. It happens to the best of us and I do not judge. Luckily, there are tonnes of Halloween Activities that you can whip up at the last minute to have a great Halloween Party. A number of these printables/crafted items would be great for boo baskets. No fancy supplies needed. Whether you’re keeping little ones busy before trick-or-treating or planning a cozy night in, these quick ideas will save the day!

You just need paper plates, glue, printed monster faces (or your little ones can draw it) and you could make the perfect quiet time activity or Halloween party activity for the little one. See what strange monsters you’re little ones are going to create when they unleash their creativity. (Just an Added Bonus) These could also be used as Halloween decorations around the house.

2. Halloween Sensory Bin

These Sensory bins would be great for toddlers and preschoolers to engage with different senses. By using jelly for eyeballs, plastic bones, felt for witch hats, and plastic cauldrons. Not to mention, there are so many different ways for your child to develop their cognitive abilities and fine motor skills by grabbing, sifting through the box, and even categorising or separating the materials. It’s only a new way to explore different textures and shapes for the little one while having fun!

6. Spooky Story Time

The Spooky Story time involves you and your little ones sitting in a dark room with only a flashlight to either recite stories from Halloween books or make up your own silly horror stories and make memories that will never be forgotten.
I would recommend checking out this link to get an idea of a few books that you can check out with the Waldock Way. There are a number of interesting picks with picture books, graphic novels, and even chapter books!

7. Ghost Bowling Night

(Credit to Dyan at And Next Comes L)

The Ghost Bowling night could involve drawing ghost faces on toilet paper rolls and use a pumpkin as a ball. It’s a quick and fun game to play with the kiddos! You can use anything for the pins and the bowling balls. If you have disposable plastic cups, repurpose them to make the pins. You can still use a small pumpkin for the bowling ball or a toy ball decorated as a pumpkin, ghost, or a witch. You can find out what you need and how to set up a Ghost Bowling Game here.

8. Halloween Word Scramble

We also have created the Halloween Word Unscramble that would be perfect for improving your little one’s Halloween themed vocabulary and the recognition of letters and letter sounds. Fun activities that make learning much more enjoyable and engaging; it can be used for boo baskets and Halloween-themed party activities. You can check them out here!

9. Halloween Puppets

If you would like adding onto Halloween Spooky Story time, you can always use puppets. These Halloween puppets would become new characters within the story and interactions with funny voices and different narrations can be a fun experience for the children. From the assembling of the Halloween puppets to the whole narration, it can be a fun evening in itself.
