10 Fun and Free Easter Classroom Activities for Kids

10 Fun and Free Easter Activities for Kids

Having to always keep the attention of children can be a difficult task, but you can make use of this new Easter month to fill your students' day with joy and happiness. Even outside of the context of Easter, these ideas can be used for a Friday or a low-prep activity that could bring smiles in the otherwise mundane classroom.

I have always found that it's extremely difficult to get the students to remain silent and focused on their tasks on hand. So, I like to get them to do crafts with proper instructions provided in order for them to have some silent time, while learning or revising new content in the form of craft-making. Not to mention, put on some Disney piano tracks (without ads!) to calm them down further. Works like a charm for me. Here's a link for it.

However, let's get into the nitty gritty of what sort of Easter activities you could easily set up for children in the classroom as a teacher or even a homeschool parent.

1. Easter Bunny Crafts with Free Template

One of my favorite low-prep activities is this super simple Bunny Craft template that you can print and hand out to students with zero fuss. The parts are already sized and outlined, so all the kids have to do is cut, color, and glue them together. I usually give clear step-by-step instructions and let them take their time—some even like to add their own little touches like a bow or whiskers! This can either be cut-out or drawn on. It's a quiet, hands-on activity that keeps them engaged, especially when you need a calmer classroom moment. Plus, it makes for the cutest bulletin board display or take-home keepsake for Easter.

This is in no way promotion, but this is a way of helping out another creator. In this case, it is Crafting Jeannie who provides the free Bunny Craft template: https://www.craftingjeannie.com/easter-bunny-craft/?pp=0. (All credits go to the actual creator)

2. Easter Bunny Headband Template

This Bunny Headband craft is such a fun and easy win for the classroom. Just print the template, let the kids color it in, cut it out, and tape the band together—it’s that simple. I love how low-prep it is, and the kids always get excited to wear their bunny ears around. It’s perfect for a quick Easter activity that still brings loads of joy and creativity into the room. I'll be honest, it does get messy with all the paper being cut, but it would be a good opportunity to teach them how to clean up after themselves. Furthermore, please be careful with a stapler. I would suggest using tape instead.

3. Build Your Own Bunny Template

This "Build Your Own Bunny" craft template is such a fun and easy activity for students. Just print it out, let the kids color and cut the pieces, then assemble their own bunny with a little creativity. This activity really improves a child's fine motor skills, while keeping them engaged. Not to mention, you might be nurturing the next Picasso or Leonardo Da Vinci with these coloring activities; new and unique bunnies could be posted on the bulletin board for the month. They are adorable additions to the classroom.

Plus, it’s a great way to bring a little excitement to the classroom without much prep. Whether it’s a quick class activity or a reward for good behavior, this bingo game adds a fun, festive touch to any Easter celebration!

This Easter Foldable Card is a fun, simple craft that’s easy to prep and even easier for students to complete. Just print out the template, have them fold it, and then let their creativity flow as they color and decorate the inside with their own messages or drawings. It’s a perfect way for students to express their Easter spirit and create a personalized card to take home. A lot of students may prefer to give it to friends or take it home and gift it to family. I love how it’s both a craft and a keepsake in one—an ideal low-prep activity for any classroom setting!

This Easter Color Sorting Sheet  is a fantastic, low-prep activity that helps students practice color recognition and sorting. Just print it out, and let the kids match the colorful Easter eggs to their corresponding color boxes. It’s a simple yet effective way to combine learning with fun, and it’s perfect for younger students to work on fine motor skills while celebrating the holiday! This Build the Easter Basket printable is such a cute and easy activity to keep kids engaged. Just print it out and let students color, cut, and glue the pieces to build their own Easter basket filled with goodies. It’s a great way to sneak in some fine motor practice while letting them have a bit of creative fun. (I know there are a lot of mention of fine motor practice skills, but it's truly really good for Pre School and Elementary students too!) I love using this one as a calm morning activity or as part of a holiday-themed craft station.

9. Easter Bunny Craft - Foldable Bunny

This Foldable Easter Bunny craft is such a fun and simple project that students always enjoy. Just print the free template, let them color and cut it out, then fold to create their own standing bunny. It’s a great mix of creativity and hands-on learning, and I love how little prep it takes. 10. Hopping Easter Bunny Craft

This Hopping Bunny Craft is such a fun little project that brings a bit of movement and excitement to the classroom. Just print the template, have students color and cut it out, then follow the simple steps to assemble their very own bunny that actually hops! I'll be honest, this is a little demanding as it requires purchase of plastic cups and rubber bands. Not to mention, it could be a hazard to poke holes in the plastic cup. I would recommend doing this as a sort of demonstration in class and explaining the mechanism behind it. It would be fun for students.
